Yes he has red hair

So a couple of weeks ago we decided it would be fun to do a little diaper photo shoot to show how chubby our little Easty is! He has rolls everywhere, I luv it! Truthfully, if he weren't so darn tall he would be much fatter! Here are a couple pictures in different poses of our little chub-a-lub!

On a different note I find it funny that almost every person who has ever seen Easton first says "is that red hair?" Which lately the reply I've wanted to give (but don't) is...'Are you color blind?' and when they say no then say 'well yes it is'. Why do you ask that if you can see it is red? And why do I get the feeling that people don't go up to kids with brown hair and ask that same question....Although, on the same note it is probably a good thing because it makes it so my husband isn't in denial anymore about his kid having red hair. He always tell me 'in some lights it looks brown' and is always shocked at how red it looks in pictures. Honestly, I love it..makes him unique. Most people also comment about the very large birthmark on his left leg (you can see it in the last two pictures) Something the doctor was not concerned about when he was born but it has now developed some dark spots in it, so he says it will eventually have to be removed...which is probably good because we didn't want him to ever be teased about it. With red hair, birthmark, and all the rolls he is still pretty freakin adorable to me!

Happy B-day Hailey!

My little sister Hailey's birthday was on Tuesday, sorry this is coming a little late but we think you are a great, wonderful, beautiful, little sister and aunt! She is also wonderful teacher! We attended sealings at the temple with our ward the same night so we missed out on dinner but did manage to spend a little time at her house playing Rock Band and enjoying homemade ice cream and cookies! Here are a couple pics of the festivities and the fam!

dumb & dumber

So the other day I did the dumbest thing ever (for those of you who know me well you know it is not out of character for me to do some pretty air-headed things) but this was a little more disastrous than usual. I decided I wanted to make sugar-free finger jello...a little snack I have been craving since starving myself on this awful lose baby weight diet..and a great one at that because you can have as much of it as you want! So I got a metal pot of water ready set it on the burner and went upstairs to get some cleaning done. Then Easton awoke from his nap and I fed him and changed him...all of the sudden I smelt burning..uh oh...I ran downstairs to find the metal was melting into the burner and water had all evaporated...this is where the dumb part comes in.

Instead of turning off the burner and letting it sit there or moving it to another burner I decided to put it in the sink. Along the way a little piece of metal fell onto the countertop causing a quarter size burn mark, then the pot caused major burn marks in our sink, and last but not least some of the metal when down into the disposal and melted completely around the disposal. So on saturday night we went to Lowe's and spent $90 on a disposal, but will also now have to pay for a handyman to come out and install it! Oh geez, I guess I am just so lucky to have a husband who just laughed and said 'It happens'..either that or he is just used to the many mistakes and airheadedness of his wife. After almost 5 years of marriage he has probably just adjusted. So I figured I would post this mental mishap of mine thinking maybe it will teach us all a lesson to put aside money for these types of mistakes...unless I am the only one who makes them.....

Here are some pictures of my stupidity for your viewing pleasure...
These are the burn marks on my sink from the pot
Burn mark on our countertop
If it wasn't hard enough to sell our townhouse I just made it harder! One day I am sure I will look back on this and laugh...but for now I'm still pretty upset about it!

Shot with a different arrow!!

So...it never fails that every Valentines Day since I've been married I've gotten sick. Now, I'm not a huge fan of the holiday..but my husband gets really into it insisting on every Valentine's that we must do something special...and every year when I get sick he says 'oh no, not again, why do you always get sick on this day' to which I reply 'I don't know honey, maybe cupid despises me for always hating the holiday, and now that I have someone to spend it with..he makes me sick'.
This year I am coming down with some flu-like symptoms, last year I had just found out I was pregnant and feeling extremely nauceous (a good sick), and the year before I had extremely bad case of bronchitis and was hacking up a lung! I am not sure what the curse is...but instead of loving Valentine's Day...I dread it more and more each year!

the Beast lives on....

So last week I took Easton to his four month pediatrician appointment...Shannon and I had made guesses as to where he be in weight guessing he weighed about 17 pounds. Well the results are in and the little man (literally) weighs 18 pounds 9 ounces. No wonder my arms are growing increasingly larger from hauling this kid around in his car seat. He is also 27 inches with a head circumference of 18" also (funny story about that for Christmas I bought him a hat and glove set from Old Navy, they didn't go by age just head circumference, so based on his 2 month appointment I ordered it and when it came in the mail it said it was for 12-24 months old!) He is outgrowing his clothes faster than I can buy them and he was above 100% in every category..and after the doctor asked how big my husband was preceded to say his guess is he is going to be a very large kid (ha ha ha). Yes, our guess too Doc. Which leads me to my car seat dilemma...the kid can't sit up yet but the belt buckle on his car seat now is way too tight for him. I'm guessing I will have to invest in a convertible car seat but am wondering what I am going to do for days I am going to the store..hmmm...any suggestions to those who have been in this similar situation would be great.

Go giants! and our four-month giant

Yesterday we ventured out to Aberdeen and watched the Super Bowl with my family..I loved seeing the New York Giants get a win over those cheating Patriots! What poor losers! I'm usually much more of a college football girl than the NFL but this was a great game and probably the first year I watched more of the game and less of the commercials and halftime show! Easton liked the game but got a little scared when we were jumping up and down at the end. When the Giants made the game winning touchdown Shannon was holding Easton and got a little excited and Easton got scared and started screaming!! I took him away and calmed him down a little bit...only I got excited about the next play and he went into histerics again! I then finished the remainder of the game in a different room and rocked Easton to sleep and my mom came with to keep me company! We had great food Shannon and I brought the appetizers (rolls, fried ravioli, bean dip and chips, pepper poppers, and wings) and my mom had hamburgers and chocolate wafer dessert so we definitely stuffed ourselves full! Our car got stuck in my parents driveway coming up so after the game we tried to ram it out and got my dad's truck stuck also! We ended up driving my parents Armada home and will have to switch cars on Wednesday when my mom comes to babysit Easton! My camera battery was dead so I didn't get any pictures but we had a blast other than the last part!
On another note, Easton turned four months old on Saturday and he is just growing so fast!! He is starting to drool alot and is constantly blowing spit bubbles...he is such a smiler and is started to laugh and coo alot! He also practically chokes himself every day eating his hand! I guess as new parents we are fascinated seeing the new things he has to show us each day! I am trying to show video we have of him laughing but I can't get it to work but I'll keep working on it so watch for future videos! Here are some pics of him in commemoration of his four months of life!
In his car seat after an outing to the mall!
Ready for bed in his cute new pj's
All dressed up and ready for church!
Trying out his friend Bennett's Bumbo...
Just hanging out with dad! He loves to stand on our laps and we hardly get him just to sit anymore!
Full of smiles!
