We are IN!

Since the time I wrote the last post we did close on our house by Friday but the sellers would not let us move into it until it was recorded by the county. So we went to Idaho that weekend, then came back to Utah to save on more hotel bills stayed with my cousin Katie and her hubby TJ who were nice enough to let us sleep in their basement. We thought it would only be one night since they promised it would be funded by Monday. However, the scanning department at the Bank that was funding us shut down for a couple hours. So, they were nice enough to let us stay another night. The next day the funding even got delayed for a little bit because they messed up the routing number with the account number! Seriously, at that point we were wondering what else could have gone wrong in this process!! But we are IN! We moved in Tuesday almost 2 weeks ago and have just been trying to organize everything. Now everything is almost organized so soon we will started painting, decorating, and tiling! One thing after another! Also, a week after we moved in I went to Idaho to do hair for three full days in a row! So I know some of you have been waiting for these pictures, but seriously it's a miracle I've had time to breathe lately! I'm glad I don't have to live out of a suitcase anymore and glad Easton is sleeping on his crib instead of on a blanket on the floor! I still have about 60+ blog posts on Google Reader to read! Thanks to all the people who helped us move in and thanks to the Andersons for letting us stay with them! I have a couple more posts after this about everything that has been going on! So scroll down to check it out!
Here it is, the front door and right side view of the front of our house
Here is the left side view
Here is our living room, I am still going to paint so there are no decorations up yet
This is where the stairs are it is kinda the break between living room and kitchen
Kitchen
Master bedroom
Easton's bedroom...there is also an office room, bathroom, and master bathroom I did not take a picture of, they were still a little too messy!
So no kidding, this house was vacant for a couple months so here is a before picture of the backyard when we moved in! We hired a lawn boy to take care of it....
here is the after! much better, the jungle was driving me crazy! It is so nice to have a fenced backyard and I know I will enjoy it even more when little Easty is big enough to run around! We love our first real house!

Easty-babies!

My little brother Garrett put his hat on Easton! Nothing cuter than little boys in big hats!
He's not quite sure what is going on here!

SO I decided to throw a little post in these many post of mine about Easton's new little things he is doing! He cannot crawl forwards but can crawl backwards (my child doesn't like to do things the conventional way)...but you have to pay close attention because it happens pretty slow! However, he does manage to get around pretty good by scooting, rolling over, and crawling backwards. About a month or more ago he started to say 'da da'. I kinda just passed it off as jibberish and didn't think he could be talking already and didn't really tell anyone cause I thought they would just think I was just a silly first-time mom. But then he started to say things in front of other people and they would say...'he can already say his first words?' So now I guess I can say he legitimately says 'ma ma' and 'da da'. although he did say 'da da' first. I thought the pro to having a boy was that he would be a mama's boy! dang it! He also gives big smiles to people and then when they smile back he get really shy and puts his head down. The other night at a restaraunt the waiter smiled and said hi to him and he went to put his head down and hit it on the table hard and broke into tears! Although he was crying it was pretty darn cute! I also gave him his second haircut a little over a week ago and we cut about 1 1/2 inches off it. Oh my gosh the kid has so much hair! He hated it and screamed for an hour afterwards! He was being a tad bit dramatic! He is also getting to that age where he cries every time I leave a room. Which was not too easy while moving...let's just say I didn't get to be as much help as I would have liked! I can't lie though, part of me loves that my child needs me!!

LAGOON!!!!

Shannon's company Marketstar took everyone and their families to Lagoon on Friday in celebration of their 20th anniversary. It was lots of fun but truth be told most of the day was pretty rough because Easton's four top teeth are coming in all at once! OUCH! His binky got lost within the first 30 minutes there. which if anyone has been around easton you would know he is a binky kid. it definitely keeps him quiet. and without it he is not so quiet!! So it was a pretty rough day for him initially but he did do better as the day went on (after getting drugged up a little)! However, it was a free trip so we can't complain and we still managed to go on a couple rides and get fed a free dinner!
Easton and I riding the carousel..on the two rides Easton went on he didn't smile the entire time, but he didn't cry either so it was good!
Aunt Whit-nit came and stayed with us this weekend and watched Easton while Shannon and I went on some rides...it has been so much fun to have her here! Last week my sister did a post about the funny things Whitney says...stay tuned for the wonderful world of whitney part II...she has said the funniest things while here!

Lucas family reunion/father's day weekend

Last weekend was the Lucas family reunion in Salt Lake City. Shannon's aunt Diane and uncle Artie and his cousin Katherine from North Carolina flew into Salt Lake to join us. Since they live in North Carolina I had only seen them once before when they came out to Idaho. They are the nicest people in the world and it was lots of fun getting to know them better. Everyone was there except for Sean & Bridger, and Scott, Jen & their kids (who were missed lots). It was a fun weekend with family. We started out by going to California Pizza Kitchen....

.....and I know this is so late, but since the reunion was the same weekend as Father's day..I have to give a little shoutout to my husband who is such a great father. He is so great with Easton and is such a help to me. I couldn't ask for a better man to be my babies daddy! Easton's first words were 'da da' so I think that says it all. Also, I'd like to wish a happy father's day to my dad also. Who is such a great man and I love him lots!! Thanks for being the best dad ever!

Memorial Day

Here are some pictures I took from Memorial Day out in Aberdeen. Every year we visit my Grandma Wahlen's gravesite and reminisce on what a wonderful woman she was!

Homeless....Homeless...

You would think for as long as I've been blogging about getting into our house that we would be in it by now huh? Ya we are not. We were promised countless amount of times that we would be in our house by the end of the month at the last, possibly before. Countless. Well, it was then pushed back to Wednesday (yesterday), then it was Thursday (today), then it was tomorrow. Yet, we are not even closed yet. Now they are saying Monday or Tuesday. I now have a really hard time believing it will even happen by then. We are hopeful we will close tomorrow...key word...hopeful.
Our mortgage guy just flat out makes me really mad. He really pushed us into doing an FHA loan...lower interest rate but way more strict than a conventional loan. Well we were supposed to close Monday then were told the lending company we were going through was going out of business. The next day we find out they are not going out of business, they actually have way too MUCH business and don't have anymore money to lend us! Why take it on then? For over a week they worked on it before saying they were all out of money! Are you kidding me???
Because of these certain promises we made arrangements for internet, cable, Uhaul, etc...the internet and cable we can move. However, we moved our stuff into our garage on Saturday stayed with my parents through the weekend. Had my dad's farm workers move our stuff from our garage to the U-haul on Monday. However, come Friday U-haul is going to charge us $40 extra a night till we return it. I am so sick of living out of my suitcase.
The funny thing about all of this is we are going to end up doing a conventional loan anyways, and it could have been done a while ago....On Monday, I broke down into tears when my hubby came home. I'm feeling a little stressed to say the least! We are now spending our stimulus check on a hotel when we were supposed to spend it on washer, dryer, lawnmower, etc..Good thing our first mortage payment won't be till August!
Sorry I have to vent...I will be SOOOO happy the day we move in!! My sister has my camera so I will post some pics when I get it back. Don't expect another post for a while because we won't have internet until a couple days after moving in. I'm hopeful that one day be able to post pics of our new house :-) After this experience it makes me never want to buy a house again, but somehow I don't think a 3 bdrm, 2 bth will last us forever...
