Easton laughing and sucking his thumb

This is from about a month ago, I kind of forgot about it, but it is pretty darn cute, he was laughing pretty hard. He has also developed a thumb-sucking habit and could hardly keep it out of his mouth!

pictures from my busy week

I have my camera back so now it is time to share some pictures from last week, it was very eventful....
Here is Easton with his Aunt Shelly, she is a nurse in the NICU at Primary Children's. We went to Rexburg to visit since she was up for the weekend.
Here is Easton and his cousin Ben in diaper pics, gotta love fat babies! We went and visited with Shannon's sister Sue who lives in Utah.
This is cousin Mya. it was so funny I think she said "he is sooo cute" about 20 times and also kept saying "I just love baby easton" and giving him big hugs like in this picture. and easton is all for hugs and kisses from the ladies.
Emma & Mya had a bubble machine that blew tons of bubbles everywhere, all the kids loved it. Don't they have on the cutest little matching outfits ever?
We also visited with our friends Clifton & Shana. Clifton and Shannon were roommates and football buddies at ISU, we hung out with them lots till they moved to Utah. we will enjoy getting to be close to them again. Here is Clifton, I'm not quite sure what he was doing here.
Their crazy child Tyler who was showing me his dinosaur pose.
Here is Tyler, Shana, and baby Taylee. Shana and I had our babies 6 days apart. Although Taylee only weighs 14 pounds. She was tiny compared to easty beasty!Last week, we gave Easton his first haircut!! This is the before pic...everyone was telling me it looked great and he didn't need it cut yet! I guess it was driving the hairdresser in me crazy because I couldn't do anything with it anymore...so I decided to go for it!Do you like it? I keep finding random pieces that were left uncut, but in my defense...6 month old kids are just too cool to sit still. and he kept turning his head and following me everywhere I went which made it really hard to get the back. So atleast the front looks good.
Here I am at Aberdeen's Junior Miss with my friend Ashley Allen. Isn't she cute? she is so darn skinny she just had her baby in february! Hunter is adorable also! Easton and her baby Hunter had matching pajamas, so we couldn't resist a picture!Easty and I with Becca Ure whose hair I did backstage and was also the winner of Junior Miss!

Utah here we come!

BIG NEWS! No, I'm not pregnant!

We are moving to Ogden, UT!!! Shannon just got a job for a marketing firm called Marketstar there and we are mostly excited a little bit sad to go! OK, Shannon's 100% excited (he almost started to cry when he got the job, it's been a long search) I'm almost there. It just happened so fast, we found out about the job last Wednesday...he got a call to schedule the interview on Friday, interviewed on Tuesday, and they officially offered it to him yesterday! I'm 90% excited and maybe 10% sad. The 10% being mostly leaving my clients I've had in the 3 1/2 years of doing hair here. I would say after talking to people for a couple of hours once every couple of months they start to feel like family...I know all of their happenings, they know all of mine...yadayada. And while I will be very happy to be more of a stay-at-home mom a part of me will miss out on those conversations I'm so used to. I will also miss being so close to my family also. although I know i'm still not too far away.

He has been looking for jobs in Idaho (mostly for me) but it is definitely hard to find a good-paying ideal job in Pocatello, Idaho...I probably forgot to ever mention he found out a couple of weeks ago his company was going to lay him off soon after they lost a contract and had to cut $100 mill from the budget! So this comes as a big relief to us and is also a wonderful opportunity! We now have a little over 3 weeks to be down there, buy a house, rent/sell our townhouse! It's gonna be a little crazy around here! My mom, Easty, and I are going down on Wednesday to try and look around and Shannon and I are meeting with a mortgage guy tonight to see how much we will qualify for. I'm very happy that we are not living right in Salt Lake, Ogden is a lot cheaper and very comparible to Pocatello as far as house prices go. We even found a townhouse that has a salon in the basement....that would be ideal for me! Anyways, we will keep you all updated as things happen!

oh the things I do to myself....

So I know it has been a little while since my last post and it comes with a good reason, I have been incredibly busy as of late just listen to how busy my past weeks have been........

it all started with Thursday the 10th. for some reason lately everyone has been wanting their hair done...warm weather, senior pictures, etc... I soon found myself being booked almost 3 weeks out and having people call saying they couldn't wait that long. I worked from 4-8 on Thursday, 1-6:30 Friday, and 9-3...then came home for two hours and spent some quality time with my baby to then drop him off at a babysitter to go to the Jimmy Eat World/Paramore concert Shannon and I had planned on going to for months...which was awesome!

Sunday we then headed to Rexburg to have dinner at the in-laws, Monday I worked again from 12-2:30, 5-8....then on Tuesday we went down to Utah to spend a couple of days together as a fam and visit some friends, got home at 9 Wednesday night. thursday I worked from 10-8...yep, there is nothing quite like standing on your feet for 10 hours. four colors and haircuts. apparently I need to work on saying no, it is one of my biggest faults.... friday, you would think I might spend the day recooperating from the week but nope I cleaned, went grocery shopping, ran errands, etc. saturday I got up and worked from 9-3, came home gave my baby a bath and got us both ready to go to Aberdeen's Junior Miss where I did Becca Ure's hair backstage...and she won, congrats Becca! I went and visited with my parents at their house, ended up chatting with them till way late and didn't back to Poky till 1:15 a.m. and by the time I got myself ready for bed and Easton in bed it was 2 a.m. (I have pictures of all these events but left my camera in Aberdeen and won't get it back till Saturday, so I will post them then) It all caught up to me and I woke up Sunday morning with no voice, a massive head cold, sour throat, cough, and all over achy feeling. Shannon then took Easton to church with him so I could get such much needed rest! I worked lastnight from 5-8:30 but now am taking today and tomorrow to do absolutely nothing, spend some time with my baby (I have a guilty feeling for having left him so much lately), and hopefully get feeling a little better....then it's back to work on Thursday!

A special thank you to all of Easton's babysitters, to which working would not be possible without!

easty's half-birthday

On April 2nd, Easton turned six months old....crazy, I just wanted to sit and cry the other day thinking of how big my baby has gotten! The last general conference he was only 5 days old! Now he is a 20 pound chub! Geez, time has flown by...as per usual I will give you the stats from his pediatrician appointment. For height he was well over 100% (over 29 inches), same for head circumference, and weight he dropped down to 90%! He was only 20 lbs 7 oz. (ha, ha only) but really I was telling everyone I thought he weighed atleast 22 or 23...carrying him around all day he probably feels heavier than he really is! I'm sure he will still grow up to be tall and solid! Here are some pics of him at 6 months! With his uncle Garrett (do you see a resemblance?)
all smiles when he's with grandpa!
I now have a little thumb-sucker on my hands!
he loves his Nana Wahlen & has definitely grown attached since she babysits every other week for me while I work (love ya mom)
he is sitting up completely on his own (well, he still tumbles every once in a while) here he is watching a baby einstein dvd...I cannot get his attention when he is watching this
here he is givin his aunt whit some kisses! he has become quite the flirt lately...any girl that holds him gets nice big slobbery wet ones from Easty! shannon gets the shaft though, he goes to give his dad kisses and then feels his facial hair and backs away! he is such a cuddly baby and I luv his big hugs and kisses!

happy 1st birthday Halle!

So on Monday it was my neice Halle's 1st birthday. We had a little pizza party, presents, and cake over at my sisters to celebrate! It was a fun little family gathering. She is such a darn cute petite little thing and always so mellow, we love you Halle Palle, happy birthday! Here are some pics from the party...
Nana & Kin helping Halle to blow out her candle!
Here she is letting her mom and sister open her presents! McKinley was happy to help!

McKinley got a present too, here she is posing with a cheesy little grin and all dressed up in her BYU cheerleader outfit...she got a barbie with purple hair (her favorite color) She was the life of the party..she greeted all the guests and helped with everything.

Easton getting some height in his jumperoo

Easton loves playing in his jumperoo, even when not in it he loves to bounce on our laps! Enjoy!
