first biter biscuit & working out

So I gave easton his first biter biscuit the other day...what a mess! We stripped him down to his onesie and socks. I think he is spoiled from rarely having a bottle, he would hold it some of the time but alot of times would just drop it and not pick it back up..he just wanted me to do it for him....spoiled child!

On a side note, I am determined to lose some weight. It is however, not coming off as fast as I would like it to. I started dieting pretty much right after christmas doing the low-carb thing. I took the weekends off. This I know probably not the best idea but my husband lost 50 pounds (while I was pregnant, jerk) doing the same exact thing. Men, why is it so much easier for them? I lost 10 pounds within the first week or so and since have not lost anymore..haven't gained any..but haven't lost any either. I conveniently forget to mention that my husband also worked out 6 days a week. So in trying to find a cheaper alternative to working out I went to the community recreation center and got a punch card. This morning I attended a step-mix class there and oh my gosh it killed me. every opportunity she gave us to do the less hard alternative I took. everyone else in the class knew what they were doing but I was struggling. didn't help that I also grabbed the highest step. whoops! i'm seriously sore right now. but atleast I came home feeling just a little more determined to lose weight. I gave up their for a good week or so. Seriously though, I'm thinking about switching to weight watchers or something. I think I would be much better at limiting what I eat than doing low-carb. I also am signing Easty and I up for mommy & me swimming lessons. I didn't know babies can attend swimming lessons but starting at 6 months they can. It starts next month and we are looking forward to it. Should be fun!

Our day of fun

So I was supposed to work on Saturday...I had one appointment but she cancelled which I was so happy about because I have not had a Saturday off in a LONG time. I was also glad after being a little worn out after working an 8 hour day on Wednesday and a 9 hour day on Thursday...I almost died after! so as a family we decided to take advantage of this day. we were already debating on going to the Dr. Seuss movie "Horton hears a who"...the previews didn't make it sound way funny but we are big fans of Jim Carrey and Steve Carell so we figured it would have to be, right? right around then my little sister Whitney called and said she was having Easton withdrawals and they were coming to Pocatello. So we went to lunch and the movie with my mom and dad, uncle Garrett and aunt Whitney. we loved the movie, it was so cute and so funny! great for both kids and adults! GO SEE IT! easton was so good through it, this was his first movie so we were a little nervous and sat right by the exit, but he didn't even make a peep he just stared at all the colors on the screen and then took a little nap on my mom's lap! Here is Easton after the movie, he must be laughin about all the funny parts...
I was trying to get him to look and me and smile, but he won't smile at the camera on purpose...so the next best thing is him turning and getting dad to make him smile!
After the movie we decided to continue our day of fun and go bowling..here is Shannon going for it! I love to bowl and make Shannon go...he is getting alot better since being forced to do it!
Here I am getting ready to go, I did horrible the first couple frames but then picked it up a little by the end of the game. I either do horrible or really good!
Here we are together at the bowling alley, Easton was asleep through the whole thing...I won the first game and Shannon won the second. I used to always beat him but not anymore! I hate taking pictures of myself but I know I need to get over this so that Easton can have a few pictures with his mom in them! So I hate this but I am posting in anyways...atleast there is one cute person in the photo!Easton in some new big boy jammies we bought him. 12-18 months and they are snug! shannon took a couple pics of him sitting up and leaning over and you could see his little bum crack, I debated on whether to post the pic but didn't because I don't want any pervs looking at my little boys bum on the web. Overall, it was fun to have a day off spending it with my favorite people in the world!

All about Easty

Easton just got tagged by his future girlfriend Maggie Collins...
after little Mag-Pie tagged us it only called for 5 things, when I started thinking about it I had a hard time coming up with 5, it only took a short time to make that list grow bigger...so we may add on more...

5 (or more) things you may not know about Easton Lucas
  1. He is a very picky eater so far, after about a month of him not taking a bottle and me coming home from work to him screaming of hunger (pediatrician says he will eventually eat if he's hungry enough, I disagree with this, he will scream and get so worked up he won't ever eat..at least that is what my child does) thanks to my sister-in-law Jen he will now eat if he is turned away from the chest area and being distracted by the TV. He totally hates formula and will refuse that. I may be nursing him for a lot longer than I anticipated...
  2. He is THE lightest sleeper in the world. The minute I set him down for the most part he wakes up. He also fights going to sleep big time and usually can't fall asleep unless his head is buried in a blanket or in mom's chest or in between dad's armpit area.
  3. He pretty much never spits up, and when he does it is the tiniest amount and it doesn't get on my clothes or his just trickles out of his mouth and we catch it before going on clothing. Given even that only happens about once every couple of days. (Maybe that is why he is such a chub?) So I am seriously lucky in that aspect..I only have to deal with immense amounts of drool on his clothing.
  4. He started teething about a month ago and now has the two cutest little bottom teeth ever. Ever since this moment he randomly bites our arms, hands, faces, anything he can get his mouth on. Right now, he is sitting with me trying to help me type and biting my hand. The cutest thing ever is lately he grabs my hair pulls me close, and lays a big wet slobbery kiss right on my face. I love it!..I then spend a minute trying to get my hair out of his death grip.
  5. He got a Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo a little over a month ago and loves it. I love it too because it gives me some time to get things done while he plays, and each day he spends more time in it. He can definitely get some air in that thing. So when he is on our laps he has become quite the jumper and mover. He is totally in a stage where he is doing new things all the time and we love it.
  6. He has started to sit up all on his own. YAY! The other day he sat up for like 3 or 4 minutes before toppling over and after we made him laugh and he too excited to stay up. He can't do it unsupervised totally on his own yet but with practice I'm sure he'll get there. I hope it comes soon because I cannot lug this kid around in his baby carseat still..he is way too heavy. On the other hand, he probably won't crawl till way late..the doctor says I need to give him more tummy time..he hates tummy time. He will hold up his head for like 10-20 seconds and then faceplants into the carpet. And has learned to roll from his stomach to his back now, but rarely does back to stomach..little stinker...oh well, I tried.
  7. He is getting so much hair! Everyone keeps asking if I have already given him a haircut because it seems to have grown in pretty even...but he is now in need. His dad is in need of a haircut so we'll have to put Easton in the chair and subject him to one as well! Watch for first haircut pics coming soon!
We love him and are grateful to have him in our lives.. He makes us laugh every day!
So there you have it, sorry for the little novel about my little man. It's a good way for me to look back and remember the things he did at this age! So now for the tagging of the other kids..and I have to say in advance if I forget your child and you are a reader of this blog I'm sorry I don't have my friends and family blogs list by me and so please go ahead and tag yourself. Everyone is welcome to participate and I look forward to read things I don't know about all your children!

Here are some pictures of the little man
Here he is enjoying his jumperoo...this was his first time in it..he is totally mesmerized
His grandma Lucas let him borrow this dog toy she had, he loves it (mostly to put in his mouth)
Here he is exhausted after his bath burying his face in the towel, he fell asleep on the floor in front of the bathroom while I was getting ready.
Look at how much hair is coming in on top!

I now tag...here it goes long list...McKinley & Halle Daw, Jax & Parker Grant, Taylor & Peyton Anderson, Lydia & Wyatt Anderson, Noah Fanello, Sydney & Morgan Lyon, Madeleine & Olivia Wahlen, Emma & Bennett Wahlen, Nixon & Everett Smith, Caleb Mickelsen, & Emily Pearson.

Girls weekend in California

On Saturday March the 1st my cousin Lindsay got married in the San Diego temple. All the girls in my family decided it would be fun to do a girls trip and fly down to California. We thoroughly enjoyed the warm weather, family, food, and outlet mall shopping. It was a beautiful wedding and both of the babies did excellent on both flights, with not a cry out of either one of them! Easton is teething and has the cry of a grizzly bear so I was a little frightened but he did great and slept most of the flight! On Sunday we had the chance to attend sacrament meeting at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego where my uncle is bishop over a few wards, it was filled with all younger men with shaven heads...a little awkward at first but such a great experience to hear their testimonies and made us all proud of our troops. It was definitely the first time I heard men ask a question in their testimony and have the whole congregation yell out 'yes sir'! Monday we had a little too much fun at the outlet malls and my sister bought an extra suitcase just to get all our purchases home! It was fun to see alot of family and have a great weekend with the girls plus Easton! Here are some of the pictures from our trip....
Easton and Halle preparing for their first flight...good job kids!
Easton with his aunt Whitney on the plane

Easty and I in front of the San Diego temple, beautiful isn't it? (not me, the background)
My cousin Troy and Easton were instant best friends
The only picture I got of the newlyweds was this one of them smashing the cake in each other's faces. I would have gotten one in front of the temple but Easton had a major blowout so let's just say that didn't happen!
Easton cuddling up with aunt Hailey at the hotel
Hailey, Whitney, and Easton at Ruby's Diner in the Outlet Malls in Carlsbad
Cute little Halle with her cheesy grin
This picture pretty much captures the way we all felt after the trip was over...completely exhausted. Poor Easton had a hard time sleeping in the umbrella stroller I had him in the whole time but finally gave in to sleeping in an awkward position, let's just say this trip kind of had him off his nap schedule! By the end, he was dead tired!

Today is my dad's birthday, which one I can't tell you I kinda lost track after 50! (sorry dad) We love you lots, you are such a kindhearted, generous, loving father, father-in-law, and grandfather! You are one of my best friends, I always enjoy the time I get to spend with you! We hope you have a great day and look forward to celebrating with you tonight! Love ya!
